The slip lead is generally the preferred type of dog lead for most trainers as it is a simple training tool that is easy to use one handed.
If fitted incorrectly, the slip lead will not loosen once tension is released.
- To fit the slip lead, form a loop with the ring end hanging from the Lead Body.
- Place the loop over the dogs head and secure in place with the keeper.
- The lead should fit comfortably around the dog’s neck without being too tight.
- The ring end should hang freely from the lead body and not sit above it.
- If tension is placed on the lead and then released, the lead should also loosen.
