The ArRCatch 22 replacement bolt release is a replacement for the standard bolt release paddle on an AR lower. This replacement bolt release is designed with the .22lr bolt in mind. It enables the bolt to be manually locked to the rear and released via the same paddle. This bolt release does not automatically lock the bolt to the rear after the last round is fired unless used with a Smith and Wesson 15-22 magazine.
The magazine spacers are recommended to be fitted to the S&W magazines to ensure a snug fit. Depending on the lower, these spacer plates may require minor filing to achieve a snug but drop free fit.
Once this catch is installed in the AR lower, only a .22lr bolt is able to be used. If the user wishes to use a different bolt such as .223/5.56, this catch must be replaced with the standard spec AR bolt catch.
