2017 Midland Fair

There’s just under two weeks to go until the Midland Game Fair arrives at the grounds of the Weston Park, bringing a fantastic line-up of sporting pursuits and country inspired living to the stunning Staffordshire countryside.

Set within the stunning grounds of Weston Park in Shropshire, the vast parkland offers truly amazing grounds in which to host a countryside event of this magnitude. Steeped in history and offering breath-taking scenery, visitors will be truly spoilt as they surround themselves by some of Britain’s most beautiful countryside, allowing them to get involved in all the action as well as soak up the celebratory atmosphere of the last event of the season.

For 2017, visitors to the event can expect lots of exciting things to come, including lots of family entertainment and superb feature areas for every interest. In fact inside this year’s jam-packed Realtree Main Arena, this year’s line up includes jousting favourites, The Knights of Middle England, Britain’s longest established and leading dog team, The Essex Dog Display, falconry experts with Ye Olde Redtail Falconry, the fast and fun Lamb National as well as a traditional Hound Parade, Lure Racing and seasoned long netter, Brian Brinded.

If sporting championship finals are more your thing, the Midland boasts a comprehensive itinerary of grand finals in every sporting area. Whether it’s the Chudleys Gundog Championship, BFTA European Field Target Championship, Countryman’s Weekly Champion of Champions in the Terrier and Lurcher events or the nail-biting BASC Clay Shooting finals, the Midland promises to bring the whole sporting season to a close, with plenty of prizes and sporting titles handed to those talented stars managing to successfully raise the bar.

Don’t miss our every popular key feature areas on offer over the weekend too. With the Folk Roots Festival reaching across three different stages, the Prince Albert Angling Fishing Village, a Working Dog Village, Falconry Village, Airgun Expo and Gamekeeper’s Row, as well as a Fieldsports Arena, Food Festival and Beer in the Park, visitors will be truly spoilt for choice! From Ferret displays, donkey rides to inflatables, there is also a huge array of have-a-go fun, musical entertainment and demonstrations in every rural craft for every age and interest.
